Sr. Rose Makena Kanathi (SJBC) has been a Lecturer in the School of Nursing at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa since September 2023. She previously worked as an Oncology Nurse at Kenyatta National Hospital, in Palliative and Hospice Care at Nairobi Hospice, and completed clinical rotations in oncology at Kenyatta National Hospital across units including the Cancer Treatment Centre, hemato-oncology, paediatric oncology, and radiotherapy. She also worked at Cottolengo Health Centre and Cottolengo Mission Hospital Meru, and has experience caring for children and teenagers living with HIV at Cottolengo Centre Nairobi. She has a strong background in nursing care across multiple disciplines including oncology, palliative care and HIV care.
