CUEA Explores Academic Partnership with Semmelweis University of Hungary

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, hosted a delegation from Semmelweis University, Hungary, to explore opportunities for academic collaboration, institutional partnership, and mutual growth.

The delegation was led by Dr. Beata Dávid Pethesné, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Public Administration at Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary and their local partners.

The visiting team was received by CUEA's Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation, Advancement and Partnerships, Prof. Damian Maingi, alongside the Director of Academic Linkages, Sr. Dr. Bibiana Ngundo.

Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the two institutions in education, research, and innovation, with a shared commitment to expanding international academic engagement for the benefit of students, faculty, and the wider university community.

Among the areas identified for potential collaboration is CUEA's School of Nursing, where the institutions will explore opportunities for academic exchange, research partnerships, and capacity building.

The engagement marks another step in CUEA's efforts to build strategic international partnerships that enhance teaching, research, and global learning opportunities.
