CaSPA-K Conference Concludes with Call for Transformative Leadership

The 11th Edition of the Catholic Schools Principals' Association of Kenya (CaSPA-K) Conference concluded on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), with Catholic school leaders challenged to embrace transformative leadership that strengthens institutions and positively impacts the lives of young people.

The three-day conference, held under the theme "Catholic Schools: Rooted in Faith, Rising with Purpose," brought together Catholic school principals from across Kenya for prayer, reflection, professional engagement, and discussions on the mission and future of Catholic education.

The conference concluded with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Rt. Rev. Obed Muriungi Karobia, O.F.M. , Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Nairobi. In the Mass the new CaSPA-K leadership was also inaugurated.

In his homily, Bishop Karobia reminded Catholic educators that leadership goes beyond administration and management, emphasizing that true leadership is about transformation. He challenged the principals to return to their respective schools with renewed commitment to ensuring that every lesson, activity, and interaction reflects the love and values of Christ.

"Go back and implement what you have learned. Go back and take care of your institutions," Bishop Karobia urged the principals, calling on them to translate the lessons and reflections of the conference into concrete action.

The Bishop's message brought the three-day conference to a close with a renewed emphasis on servant leadership, faith formation, and institutional responsibility in Catholic schools.

Bishop Karobia is also an alumnus of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, further underscoring the University's continuing contribution to the formation of leaders serving the Church and society.
