Adele Njuguna (Adele Nyambura Njuguna) is a lecturer of Biology in the Department of Natural Science at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. She holds a Master's in Molecular Medicine from ITROMID (a collaboration of KEMRI) and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Kenyatta University. She is a member of the Immunology Society of Kenya. Her areas of interest include molecular biology, biochemistry, sustainable resource management, microbiology and Neglected Tropical Diseases, with current research in HIV immunology, zoonosis in domesticated and wild animals, and bioprospecting. She teaches Biochemistry II, Molecular Biotechnology, Immunology, Parasitology and a Research Project course.

Research interests: Adele Njuguna is a distinguished lecturer in Biology at the Natural Science Department. She holds a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine from ITROMID, a collaborative program with the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Kenyatta University. She is an active member of the Immunology Society of Kenya.; Adele Njuguna is a highly accomplished molecular biologist whose research has made significant contributions to understanding HIV immunology and zoonotic diseases. Her work on CD38 as a surrogate marker for HIV infection has provided valuable insights for monitoring disease progression in both antiretroviral-naive and experienced patients.; Her research on Toxoplasma gondii in Kenya has advanced our understanding of this important zoonotic pathogen. By detecting natural infections in chickens and developing neurological mouse models, her work has contributed to understanding disease transmission pathways and pathogenesis in East Africa.; Her study on the prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii and other zoonotic gastrointestinal parasites in domestic cats provides crucial data for public health interventions, as cats play a significant role in transmitting these pathogens to humans.
