The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the American University from Washington DC.
The MoA, will mainly promote the exchange of students between the two institutions and also promote other forms of academic exchanges between the two institutions.
The Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury, Hon. Henry Rotich congratulated CUEA for being among the leading institutions in the region with a large number of PhD holders in the teaching and research fraternity.
Hon. Rotich was the chief guest at the 30th CUEA graduation where he noted that the university has been adding to the number of PhD graduands in the country in the past years.

The new Chancellor for The Catholic University of Eastern Africa, the Most Rev. Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel presided over his first graduation (and the 30th for the University) on Friday October 3, 2014.
In his speech, the Chancellor urged the students to go out and transform their communities in a tangible manner. In this case, he urged them to carry with them the AMECEA vision which is about ‘the integral transformation of the people of God.’
