The CUEA Chancellor, Most Rev Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel, C.M., Archbishop of Addis Ababa; Ethiopia has been appointed Cardinal.
Information posted online by www.news.va, quoting Vatican radio stated that on Sunday 04 January 2015 at the Angelus, Pope Francis announced the names of fifteen Archbishops and Bishops whom he will raise to the dignity of the Cardinalate on February 14, 2015; among them is Most Rev Berhaneyesus Demerew Souraphiel, C.M., Archbishop of Addis Ababa; Ethiopia and AMECEA Chairman.
Ferzana Cocker, a Bachelor of Education (English and English Literature) graduate and MA student of CUEA, launched her first book entitled 'Wild Hearts of The Savannah' at the Sir Ali Muslim Club, Park road - Ngara on Sunday December 7, 2014.
The Novel is a romantic adventure fiction exploring relationships, social and cultural gatherings and affairs of young hearts.
Mr Samuel Makori has been appointed as the new Security Officer for the University effective 1st November 2014.
Mr. Makori has been instrumental in major university events such as the Graduation whereby he has always taken charge as the head of security.
The Faculty of Commerce, CUEA has been ranked among the top four business schools in Kenya as a ‘2 palmes of excellence - Good business school with strong regional influence’ in 2014 by Eduniversal.
The Faculty, stood out among three other Kenyan academic institutions who were among the best 1,000 business schools in 154 countries. These are, Strathmore Business School, University of Nairobi School of Business and the USIU School of Business. These were ranked position one to three in Kenya respectively as 3 palmes of excellence - Excellent business schools with reinforcing international influence.

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the American University from Washington DC.
The MoA, will mainly promote the exchange of students between the two institutions and also promote other forms of academic exchanges between the two institutions.
