The Institute for Regional Integration and Development (IRID) at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) is a specialist inter-disciplinary graduate institute for research and training in Regional Integration. It brings together academics, researchers and practitioners to provide conceptual, policy and practical instruction of the highest standard on regional integration and global governance. This is intended at developing expertise in regional integration for Africa’s Regional Economic Communities.
On the evening of Monday April 13, 2015 the University held a service to pray for the victims and relatives of the Garissa University College terrorist attack.
Students and staff filled Missio hall whereby there was candle lighting, prayers and messages of solidarity with the victims and their families.
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa is the 3rd best private university in terms of graduate employability.
According to a survey, prominently reported by local dailies, and done by the Corporate Staffing Services an HR consultancy firm CUEA is 3rd after Strathmore and Daystar.
The 2015 Quarter One Talent Report survey was conducted among 208 employers in the private, public and NGO sectors. 85% of those surveyed had a preference for a particular university when hiring.
On Wednesday April 8, 2015 the University signed an MoU with African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO), Kenya Bureau of Standard (KEBS), and APEX Management Systems Consultants Limited (APEX).
The MoU presents a framework for collaboration between the four partners in providing education on standards at certificate, diploma, degree and post graduate levels
The University took part in a community service activity on February 28, 2015 in Embu County.
The exercise spearheaded by the Community Service department at CUEA also involved Sadolin Paints which donated paint for the school’s walls.
Students, staff members, and officials from Sadolin paints took place in the activity at Gichiche Primary School, Embu.
