On Monday, June 24, we hosted United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) under the theme ‘Careers to build a better world” in collaboration with South Sudan for a Career Program at Jubilee Auditorium in the afternoon from 2pm.

Among those who attended the program were Mr. Wakanyua, Dean of Students who stepped in for the VC, Fr. Jacob, South Sudan Students Association Patron, Ms. Bertinah Msabaa, HR Manager UNOPS, Ms. Juliana Amal Obonyo, HOP UNOPS, Grace Lawrence and Martha Abari, UNOPS Personnels and students.

Mr. Wakanyua encouraged all students to attend such career talks as it is very important in education development and it serves the right purpose for students.

“We welcome all students to join our organization as we provide internships and offer job opportunities to students globally. For us to recruit you, you must be able to have integrity, effective communication, strategic perspectives and leading self and others”, said Ms. Bertinah.

Grace Lawrence and Martha Abari shared their working experience in UNOPS and encouraged students to always improve their CVs by working as volunteers and not just work because of getting money.

Ms .Juliana Amal Obonyo concluded by advising students to always consider their communities first and they should go and improve their countries instead of being in foreign countries after excelling in education.

UNOPS is part of the United Nations family, it supports the successful implementation of its partners’ peace building, humanitarian and development projects around the world.
