Alumni have a moral responsibility and a right to belong to the family of their alma mater and to support it. This is because education whether paid for or else is a gift to an individual that offers one opportunity for development and service. Like a family name, the alumni have the name and seal of their former universities on their certificates. The certificates and university's recognition opens up opportunities and numerous benefits for the alumni in life.

An alumnus never leaves the university. They remain permanent members of their alma mater.
