Call for Papers

Theme:

"Rethinking the place of Science in holistic development in society"
26th to 27th March, Langata Campus.

 

The Faculty of Science at The Catholic University of Eastern Africa is organizing a two day interdisciplinary workshop on the theme"Rethinking the place of Science in holistic development of society". It is hoped that this session will attract a wide participation from all lecturers and other professionals.

Sub-Themes:
The Interdisciplinary Session Organizing Commitee welcomes high quality papers adressing but not limited to the following sub-themes:

• History and Philosophy of Science
• Science and Technology in society
• Science and environmental enhancement for human development
• Religious, Social, Ethical and Spartial temporal and Policy reflections on science for holistic development
• Science Education and Literacy
• Science and Gender
• ICT.

Abstract Submission
Lecturers, researchers and other professionals who wish to participate and/or submit papers for presentation during the interdisciplinary session are requested to use: deanscience@cuea.edu. Abstracts should not exceed 200 words. Soft copies should be saved as word file(Ms Word Format).

Abstracts will be reviewed and evaluated on the following basis:
-Relevance to the Interdisciplinary Theme
-Scholarly contribution

Please note:
Only those whose abstracts have been accepted will be contacted and requested to develop the full paper for presentation.

Important Interdisciplinary Session Dates
Deadline for submission for abstract: Friday, 12th March 2010
Deadline for submission of full paper: Friday, 19th March 2010
