Most Rev. Menghesteab Tesfamariam, MCCJ, Archbishop Designate of Asmara is a member of the University Council.The seat of the new metropolitan Church is Asmara, which is elevated to the status of metropolitan Archdiocese.
The University hosted the screening of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) proceedings for Kenya presented by the AG, Githu Muigai from Geneva, Switzerland on January 24, 2015.
Locally, the screening held at the Learning Resource Centre Auditorium was hosted by the Centre for Social Justice and Ethics (CSJE) with other partner agencies in attendance. PREAMBLE: The IBM Research Lab has set up their only lab in Africa at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Langata Campus. The focus of their research is application of Big Data to Africa’s grand challenges in the areas of Energy, Health, Water, Education and Genomics. In order to effectively engage in collaborative research in these areas with Universities in Kenya, IBM Research Africa will offer a one-semester course in Applied Computer Science starting February 2015.
