The Catholic University of Eastern Africa’s School of Graduate Studies was established in October 2013. It serves the Ecclesiastical Faculty of Theology, the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Commerce, Science, Education and Law, the Institutes of Canon Law and Regional Integration and Development, the Centre for social Justice and Ethics, and the School of Professional Development.
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa held its 29th Graduation ceremony at its Lang’ata Campus on 23rd May 2014. The theme of the graduation was “Education for transformative leadership in Africa”. 597 graduands were bestowed with Doctorate, Graduate, and Undergraduate Degrees in various fields. Diplomas and Certificates in various fields were also awarded.
PREAMBLE: The IBM Research Lab has set up their only lab in Africa at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Langata Campus. The focus of their research is application of Big Data to Africa’s grand challenges in the areas of Energy, Health, Water, Education and Genomics. In order to effectively engage in collaborative research in these areas with Universities in Kenya, IBM Research Africa will offer a one-semester course in Applied Computer Science starting August/September 2014.

Orientation of the New Students to Catholic University of Eastern Africa took place from Monday 5th May to 14th May 2014.
The DVC Administration, Rev. Prof. Juvenalis Baitu in his remarks told the students to be purposeful in life by inculcating themselves with the desirable values of life. The values will in return help them achieve transformative leadership.
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa class of 2013/2014 held their finalist dinner on 26th April 2014 at the Panari Hotel. The purpose of the dinner was to bring together all finalists and give thanks to God for their presence and good life at the University.
The Deputy Dean of Students Sr. Dr. Lucy Kamaro said that it was the time to appreciate talents in diversity so as to make the world a better place to live in as diversity makes the world beautiful.
‘‘It is not because of our favor to be at the Catholic University but Gods, therefore, it is the moment to thank God.” said Mr. Maina the Dean of Students. For your future, he said, it is also important to understand your history and by doing so that you should know the choices and decisions to make in life. The greatest challenge in life is not success but humility you have.”
